Create an Instagram Photo Contest with Hashtag Entry

May 6, 2013

Woobox now makes it incredibly simple to run a Photo Contest that integrates with Instagram posts.  You choose a specific hashtag, and photos posted with that hashtag will automatically be entered into your Photo Contest!
WARHEADS® just ran a campaign utilizing the Instagram entry functionality, with the hashtag #showusyourcubes to promote their new Sour Chewy Cubes candy.  As you can see from the contest screenshot below, this encouraged a lot of creativity from WARHEADS fans, which resulted in more fan interaction with the contest, and some very fun submissions!

How does it work?
The Woobox Photo Contest application will automatically monitor Instagram for posts with your hashtag, and import entrant photos into the submissions dashboard, where you’ll have the chance to review and …

You set the odds of winning, retry interval, the total number of winners, and (of course) the prize. As with the other Woobox apps, you can create a campaign for Facebook and/or Twitter, meaning you can choose to limit your Instant Win offer to fans and followers, and limit wins or attempts to one per user. All participant information is available to you at all times as two downloadable spreadsheets (CSV file format) separated into Winners and Non-Winners, which contain all the information collected for …

April 16, 2012

Woobox just launched a free Pinterest Tab App to showcase your Pinterest boards and pins on your Facebook page, just as they look on the actual Pinterest site!
If you’re an avid Pinterest user like myself, I’m sure you have no trouble imagining how excited we are about launching this app. Here’s a link to install a new Pinterest Tab, and it only takes a minute: http://woobox.com/pinterest/install

Over the past few months, there have been a number of blog posts with instructions for how to add a Pinterest tab to your page.  While some of them worked to an extent (albeit not as aesthetically pleasing as the ‘real’ Pinterest), most recently, those methods have stopped working altogether. Whether or not you noticed, …

Running Contests & Promotions on Google+

November 10, 2011

Have you read the Google+ page promotion policies yet?  Here they are: http://www.google.com/intl/en/+/policy/pagescontestpolicy.html
The first line of the policy reads: You may not run contests, sweepstakes, offers, coupons or other such promotions (“Promotion”) directly on your Google+ Page. What does that really mean?  What is directly on the page?
Google helps clarify in the next sentence:  You may display a link on your Google+ Page to a separate site where your Promotion is hosted … Great. That’s exactly what Woobox does, host your promotions.   Since there is no Google+ equivalent (yet) to a Facebook tab, and no way to actually build a page app for Google pages, the policy language is probably temporary.   It’s hard to imagine Google won’t change …
