Exponentially increasing your sharing and participation is as easy as a flip of a switch. Seriously, it is! In our Sweepstakes, Pin-to-Win, and Quiz campaigns you can turn on the Bonus Entry method by flipping the setting switch. But what is the bonus entry method and why does it help make campaigns so successful?
Bonus entries are tracked via a unique URL given to a user who has entered your offer. After they enter, they get the link which they can copy, or they can use the share buttons. The share buttons are customizable, so you can pick and choose which buttons you’d like displayed. Here’s a share box with all the options available.
All of our offers have default text that you can manually customize. When you enable bonus entries, it will display text in the post-entry page that says “Get x bonus entry(ies) when someone you refer enters”. This text explains exactly how bonus entries work, so you won’t want to stray too far from that, such as saying something like “share for bonus entries”, because most people would assume that if they share it – and ONLY share it – they’d get x amount of bonus entries and that’s misleading.
However, you can customize that text easily or add creatives to your post entry page encouraging users to refer their friends for bonus entries. Some people leave this page as is, and that’s totally okay. But don’t think just because you’ve gotten them to enter that your job is done. The post entry page is the perfect place to get users to share it. These shares are reaching people for you, and you don’t even need to pay for an ad to reach those people.
Other ways you can use this to your advantage is to award users who refer people. You could award someone for referring the most people, or reward those who refer at least x amount of people.
You can do this as an additional part of your overall contest, or you could do it as the main way a user can win.
Seeing your top referrals is extremely simple. Just click on Winners, and then underneath you’ll see “top referrals”. When clicked on it will display the 50 top referrers.
TIP:
Picking a winner based on referrals? You might want to only award 1 bonus entry per referral. Keeping it at 1 makes it easier to see how many people they actually referred. Picking a winner at random but giving them bonus entries for a higher chance to win? In that case, using a higher number is definitely a good incentive to share.
